The story of "Potatato" begins in the summer of 2022 when Arne, a member of the band, announced his departure. In response to this significant change, the remaining members channeled their emotions into their music. As Boris recalls, "It all started on a Monday when we wrote 'POMELO,' our first true break-up song, to process the news. That same day, 'PIANISSIMO' followed because we were on a roll." In that moment, the concept for their new album crystallized:

No collaborations (all tracks created solely by the core duo).
Each song title consists of a single word beginning with 'P' and ending with 'O.'
Lyrics are never written in the first person singular.
